I think it will be interesting to see how our new office holders do. Brandon has the experience in the office so I think that things will be fine there. I personally think William did a fine job as our state rep so I know he will be fine as COunty Mayor

As long as Baird realizes that on a local level, it is best to keep party partisanship out of the running everything will be great. I am not saying he would anyway, nor am I knocking him for his party affiliation or anything, but I just think local politics are better when not divided into D's and R's.

I couldn't agree more. I think that local races should not even be classified as either party I think all of them should run as indys.

It would definitely make the local fundraising more interesting! If a promising candidate made an appearance, and kept any personal political private, they could actually make the D's and R's compete over who would "have the influence" by donating to their campaigns more - and you know they would try. lol

I think William will keep party out of things pretty well as County Mayor. I hated losing him in Nashville actually.

Definitely. He has done some good work for the county - and that was another Republican seat in the House that may have been lost!
The Reps get steamrolled in the House right now, but I guess it is ok because they pretty much have a solid majority in the Senate. Gotta keep those checks and balances!
