I wish we would go back to electing this position rather than having a small group of people decide on it.
What are the thoughts of the few of us that are on the board on this?

I agree. I think every major office in any type of government body should be an elected position.
Theoretically I suppose though the position is elected, because we elect the people that appoint these people. So if the appointed person messes up, it falls back on the appointees.
But thats just more spin than logic. I really think we need to be able to elect all major positions in the county and cities.

I have always felt Superintendant of Schools should be elected. The board usually is able to spin blame away from themselves if they appoint a bad one.
