I remember that hiram. It was a sad time. lotharWell not that it is "full" it actually quite empty comparitvely speaking. The people who own the properties are the ones who choose who they lease to, and they should keep in mind (or be reminded of ) the types of developments needed. The main problem with downtown LaFollette is that is shuts down after 5:00. There is nothing going on, all the businesses are closed and it becomes a stomping ground for trouble makers. If we had coffee shops, bookstores, and other similar business that shoot for the evening hours, I think we would have a good downtown evening life while eliminating some of the crime problems in that particular area. But that requires an effort on behalf of land/business owners, as well as the city to put some money into downtown in terms of aesthetics and events. We could have some things like that if we could get the people organized.
